Give our boys credit: they played as hard as they have all season so undermanned. Spurs win 113-106 as we drop to 9-22.
NBA Basketball Box Score: Final statistics from the San Antonio Spurs vs. Toronto Raptors game played on February 15, 2012
We've all been talking about the free agent class, right? Well here's one for you. The Raptors could have upwards of around $22M if they chose to use the amnesty clause. Without that they're still looking at like $12M. They're set to take on JV and possibly a top five lotto selection. They're going to get a big influx of talent at to key positions right there. They can add another guy, maybe good enough to be a starter in his own right, by sending Ed or Amir packing. So, we could be looking at
The fine folks at ESPN are looking at it like this in their preview: Dwane Casey doesn't pull any punches and tells it like it is. I love it. In terms of his interviews with the media, he is the anti-Colangelo.
As an example why was he not on the floor in crunch time against the Knicks when Toronto had the lead. Instead Toronto played Calderon, DD, Barbosa and Kleiza - and undersized lineup and all below average defenders. Yes, he had five fouls, but with four or five minutes left he should have been on the floor. I also believe he saw limited playing time in the 4th against the Lakers. Would you rather have DD or JJ guarding Kobe? Especially when JJ only had 3 personal fouls.
So Jose plays Lin for the drive. He overplayed him slightly to his left at the end of a game that does not need a 3 to win vs. a guy who had hit all of 5 three pointers in his short career up to that point. Seems like smart coaching and playing to me. Lin is shooting 25% on the season from 3 (after going 2 for 2 last night) has been playing an aggressive attacking game since getting minutes, what would you do as a coach or player? I sure as hell would not ask my guy to grill him and get

Jose Calderon's play is worthy of a Clyde Fraizer type reference. He's been balling these last two games. Averaging about 28 points in the contests, Jose Calderon still can play. After facing warranted criticism in years past, he's stepped up when needed. Without Andrea Bargnani and Jerryd Bayless, scoring is missing in Toronto.

After watching the game last night, I am very disappointed at the basketball fan base in Toronto. Why the hell did half the ACC blow up in cheers when Lin hit the three to ice the game? If I had just turned on the the TV with 27 seconds left, I would have sworn it was a road game. I understand that Lin is the "in thing" right now, and I'll be honest, that I'm rooting for the guy, too. It is an incredible story, and he seems to be a great guy, but if you come into our house, wearing any other
